PRESS RELEASE: Eastern States Cup

It’s been a long, cold winter off the bikes, but we have good news to warm you up. In just two months, we’ll kick off a sweet sixteenth year of Maxxis Eastern States Cup racing. This season promises to be one for the books, with some exciting new sponsors lined up, along with an action-packed race calendar to hold you over until the rest of the snow melts. The 2025 schedule will feature 18 thrilling races hitting 10 different venues along the way, spanning the East Coast from Vermont to Pennsylvania. We know you’ve been eagerly awaiting this, so let’s get right into the details without further ado.

bigquotes At the end of the day, it’s all about the riders, their families, and the incredible community that makes the Maxxis Eastern States Cup what it is. We’re really excited for the 2025 season because it’s so much more than just racing—it’s about bringing people together and sharing the love of mountain biking, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting. It’s the campfire stories, cheering each other on, and that feeling of being part of something bigger. We love seeing everyone—families, spectators, riders—come together for the fun, memorable nights of camping. We’re building this together, and we’re ready for an amazing year ahead!George Ulmer, Maxxis ESC

Maxxis is returning for its eighth year as the title sponsor for the ESC series. As a long-standing leader in the MTB tire industry, Maxxis has been a strong supporter of gravity racing. For over 50 years, Maxxis has focused on producing tires that riders can rely on for both quality and performance. As always, our podium finishers will earn their share of Maxxis rubber at each race this season.

Intense Cycles will be back on board as the title sponsor for our Intense Downhill series. Since its inception in 1993, Intense has built a rich history in the USDH race scene and continues to help grassroots racing shine through its support. We’ll continue with our 3 p.m. seeding runs for both Pro and Expert classes each Saturday so racers can see where they stack up amongst the competition before race day. All the more reason to join the ranks of the Expert classes!

For those who enjoy a bit of a pedal, Stan’s No Tubes will continue to support on the Enduro side of things. Don’t fear the sharp rocks or roots, we’ll have plenty of Stan’s trusty sealant on hand at the registration tent to keep you rolling smooth through each race weekend. We’ll also have Cannondale Bikes back as the title sponsor of our ever-growing Ebike Enduro series.

Our Showdown Series will once again be sponsored by Thule as they provide prizing for those who tackle both Intense Downhill and Stan’s Enduro racing in the same weekend. From racks to packs, Thule has been producing quality outdoor products for over 80 years.

We’ve also got some fresh brands to welcome to the family, including Jocko Fuel, who will serve as our official hydration sponsor.

bigquotes We at Jocko Fuel are absolutely stoked to be supporting the 2025 ESC race series with our clean fuel. ESC has done an amazing job cultivating a passionate community of biking enthusiasts over the last 15 years. Being based in Jay, Maine, we take extra pride in backing the East Coast’s premiere mountain biking series. Jocko Fuel’s line of performance-based beverages, hydrate and protein, along with our supplements, are products that can help racers at all levels perform their best. We’re pumped to see you on the trails soon!Phil Mero, Director Brand Activation

For those 21+, we brought Hedlum Brewing on board as the official non-alcoholic beer sponsor. Hailing from Colorado, they produce delicious and balanced NA brews to keep your thirst quenched on those hot summer days in the pits. We’ll also have Monster Energy on board again as our official energy drink, providing prizing and of course beverages of all flavors.

VENUES AND SCHEDULE
Now that we’ve got the official sponsorship business out of the way, let’s roll right into the schedule, since you’ve all been asking. Request those weekends off now. We’re hitting all the staple riding spots in the Northeast and revisiting some old favorites.

We’ll kick off the 2025 season at Powder Ridge May 4th for our first Intense Downhill and return for the opening Stan’s Enduro May 18th. Powder is typically a popular venue due to its central location. They also open for lift service earlier than anyone in the Northeast, so it’s a great chance to get reacquainted with your bike after a long off-season.

New Hampshire’s Arrowhead Recreation Area has quickly become a favourite on the Stan’s Enduro circuit, and for a good reason, the trails there are smile-inducing, to say the least. We’ll be back twice this year, once on June 1st and again on October 12th for Finals.

photo

We think you’ll be excited to hear we’re returning to Mountain Creek on June 15th after taking a few years off. The tracks George Ryan and Crüe put together at Creek are notoriously tough but also a whole lot of fun, and no doubt, New Jersey’s finest will show up in droves to cheer on Intense DH racers.

photo

Another venue we’ll visit twice this year is Jiminy Peak in the Berkshires. Both Intense DH and Stan’s Enduro racers will get a crack at the Jiminy steeps at our first Thule Showdown June 22nd and we’ll return for DH Finals and the season closer on October 26th.

photo

The open ski trails of Mount Snow are a blast for the whole family. We’ll be returning on July 13th for an Intense DH. Race against your kids or bring a friend who’s never raced. Just pray it doesn’t rain.

photo

Killington is the perfect place to host a Thule Showdown. There are more than enough trails to keep you busy all race weekend, and the camping scene is a blast. Don’t miss it on July 20th!

photo

If you missed Monteau, New Hampshire, last year, you’ll want to make the trip to see all the work the Hayden family has put into this old ski hill. Sample the classic New England jank with the Stan’s Enduro crew July 27th, you’ll be glad you did.

photo

Thunder Mountain has become a mainstay on the Maxxis ESC calendar. Of course, we’re heading there for a Thule Showdown on August 10th. With the whole Maxxis ESC community there, party laps will be rolling deep on The Gronk and Hawleywood.

photo

Stan’s Enduro racers will head to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom to sample Burke Mountain’s magical dirt August 24th. It’s a pedally one, so bring your legs and plenty of snacks for the toll road. We promise the climb is worth it.

photo

If you ask Maxxis ESC racers their favorite Intense DH track Blue Mountain would be mentioned quite often. We’ll make our way to Pennsylvania September 14th, if you like going fast on dusty trails you’ve got to make this round.
