2017 North American ESC Downhill Team Information

Hello ESC Junior Racers,

We’d like for you to attend an informational meeting regarding the 2017 ESC NADT.  We’ll be discussing plans and interviewing prospective team members for our 2017 Team.tEAM

What is the reason for creating the team?

The reason for the team is to give USA juniors a direct path to racing Junior World Cups.  It is no secret that the Eastern States Cup has some of the best Junior Expert racers in the US.  Many of these up and coming racers have aspirations to take part in the World Cups in 2017 but are required to petition USAC for only a few spots on the USA Team.  By being a member of the ESC Trade Team, you are guaranteed the opportunity to attend a World Cup race.  To be absolutely clear – it is still up to you try to qualify during the qualifying race but as part of the Trade team, you do not need to petition for one of the limited number of Team USA spots.

How many team members will there be?

The ESC Trade team will have no less than 2 members but we expect to have the full limit of 10 riders allowed by UCI rules.

Who is eligible?

To race in a Junior World Cup event, you must be Race Age 17-18 and hold a 2017 International Cat 1 license.  Priority will be given to Eastern States Cup Junior Experts with additional consideration given to all North American Junior Experts as team spots allow.
